## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/05/2023 WITH VFR WEATHER, AT 16:48 CST, THE KANSAS HIGHWAY PATROL REPORTED AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A BELL 206 HELICOPTER, HAD CRASHED WHILE SPRAYING AGRICULTURAL CHEMICAL IN A CORN FIELD ABOUT 0.5 MILE NORTH OF CHAPMAN KANSAS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA279](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA279), Jul 5, 2023: Bell 206B (N67FA), Chapman, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from the power line during an agricultural application pass.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
