## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/07/2023 @ 1644Z / 1244 EDT PILOT LANDED A MOONEY M20M

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ON RUNWAY 15R AT KISP AND FAILED TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR RESULTING IN A GEAR UP LANDING. PILOT STATES HE FELT RUSHED DURING THE LANDING APPROACH AS THERE WAS A BOEING 737 IN THE LANDING APPROACH TO RUNWAY 15R BEHIND HIM IN THE PATTERN.

PILOTS INITIAL STATEMENT CLAIMED NY APPROACH OR ISP TOWER HAD REQUESTED HE KEEP HIS AIRSPEED UP ON THE APPROACH DUE TO 737 AIRCRAFT IN THE PATTERN. THIS WAS NOT CONFIRMED DURING A REPLAY OF NY APPROACH AND ISP TOWER AUDIO TAPES. ATC AT NO TIME INSTRUCTED PILOT TO KEEP HIS AIRSPEED UP. ATC WAS HEARD SPEAKING TO 737 FLIGHT CREW ASKING TO USE RUNWAY 24, THIS REQUEST WAS DENIED AND 737 WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE APPROACH TO 15R.

PILOT IN THIS INCIDENT DOES ADMIT TO HIS FAILURE TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR ON APPROACH AND FURTHER STATES DURING HIS GUMP CHECK DID HAVE HIS HAND ON THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR BUT FAILED TO NOTE IT WAS NOT IN THE DOWN POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
