## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE MORNING OF JULY 12, 2023 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS EN ROUTE TO KANSAS FROM CLEARWATER FLORIDA UNDER PART 135. SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTURE AT

APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 12,000 FEET THE AUTO PILOT WAS SET HOWEVER MALFUNCTIONED, CREATING A PITCH/ ROLL RUNOFF. PILOT MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TURN OFF

THE AUTO PILOT TO REGAIN CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MADE OVERPOWERING COURSE DIRECTION AND THE AUTOPILOT WAS UNABLE TO

BE TURNED OFF AT THE YOLK. ATTEMPTS TO COMMUNICATE BETWEEN PILOT CREWS WERE HANDICAPPED DUE TO RADIO COMMUNICATION COMPLICATIONS. AN

EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND FUEL WAS DUMPED IN EFFORTS TO RETURN TO BASE. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO OVERRIDE THE AUTO PILOT MANUALLY WERE MADE AND

WERE UNSUCCESSFUL HOWEVER CREW WAS ABLE TO LAND. MEDICAL CREW MEMBER SUSTAINED INJURY AND IS CURRENTLY BEING TREATED. UPON RETURNING TO THE

BASE, INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS BY THE MAINTENANCE AND PILOT CREW WAS PERFORMED. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT AUTO PILOT FAILED AS WELL AS PILOT ERROR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
