## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS DEPARTING VISALIA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (VIS), AND ON TAKE-OFF ROLL AT ABOUT 30-40 KTS, THE LANDING GEAR BEGAN TO RETRACT, AND THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO TURN TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT USED HIS RIGHT RUDDER TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE RIGHT UNTIL IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE PILOT ADVISED CTAF TO CLOSE THE RUNWAY AND REQUESTED ASSISTANCE. NO INJURIES, NO DAMAGE TO THIRD-PARTY PROPERTY, AND THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
