## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED CALVADA MEADOWS AIRPORT (74P) HEADING NORTH, AT ABOUT 800FT AGL, PILOT STATED THAT THE ENGINE STARTED SURGING, PILOT TURNED THE BOOST PUMP ON BUT IT DID NOT HELP. THE PILOT STATED THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN SO HE TURNED THE AIRCRAFT SOUTH AND TRIED TO LAND ON NEVADA HIWAY 160. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON THE EAST SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY THEN CROSSED THE HIGHWAY OVER TO THE WEST SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, STRUCK A STREET SIGN AND CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 1300 FEET FROM THE INITIAL TOUCHDOWN POINT IN THE PARKING LOT OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTY. THE FUSELAGE, BOTH WINGS, PROP, AND LANDING GEAR WERE DAMAGED AFTER THE LANDING.

TO BE AMENDED AT A LATER DATE IF REQUIRED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA272), Jul 17, 2023: Mellinger B L III/Briebleb R Glasair III (N196G), Pahrump, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: A fuel leak due to damaged threads on a fuel line fitting, which resulted in an interruption of fuel flow and a total loss of engine power due to fuel starvation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
