## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE RENO FSDO RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE SUSANVILLE AIRPORT MANAGER ON 6/28/2023 THAT A TAIL WHEEL AIRCRAFT HAD GROUND LOOPED AT THE SPAULDING AIRFIELD AT EAGLE LAKE, CALIFORNIA. THE AIRPOT MANAGER DROVE TO THE SPAULDING AIRFIELD AND TOOK PICTURES OF THE MISHAP AIRCRAFT AND EMAILED THEM TO THE FAA INSPECTOR. THE AIRCRAFT HAD ALREADY BEEN MOVED OFF THE RUNWAY AND WAS IN A PARKING SPOT ON THE RAMP. THE PILOT WAS NOT THERE AT THE TIME OF THE AIRPORT MANAGER'S VISIT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD DAMAGE TO THE PROP, SPINNER, ENGINE COWLING AND MAIN GEAR STRUTS. NTSB RULED THIS DAMAGE AS MINIMAL AND AN INCIDENT. THE FAA MADE CONTACT WITH THE PILOT WHO STATED THAT DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL ON RUNWAY 16 AT SPAULDING 1Q2 THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT INTO THE WEEDS. THE PILOT DID STATE THAT HE ENCOUNTERED A CROSSWIND THAT CONTRIBUTED TO INICIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
