## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PIC OF THIS AIRCRAFT STATED THAT HE HAD NOT FLOWN FOR 4 MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT BECAUSE THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN MAINTENANCE. THE PIC WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE PATTERN AT VGT AND SAID THE INCREASED CHATTER COMING FROM THE TOWER, DUE TO INCREASED TRAFFIC IN THE AREA, CONFUSED HIM AND HE SIMPLY FORGOT TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR. HE HEARD THE GEAR HORN BUT HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE STALL HORN. NO MECHANICAL FACTORS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS EVENT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS NOT FATIGUED, NOT UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, AND WAS NOT ON ANY MEDICATION AT THE TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
