## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ARRIVING AT THE SCENE, THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED AND LANDED IN AN OPEN FIELD RESTING IN THE DIRT. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR WAS COLLAPSED UNDER THE BELLY OF THE AIRCRAFT. TWO OF THREE PROPELLERS WERE BENT BACKWARDS, BUT THEY WERE NOT SHATTERED OR SPLINTERED.

AN OIL PUDDLE APPROXIMATELY TWO OR THREE FEET IN DIAMETER WAS UNDER THE BELLY OF THE AIRCRAFT. ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PILOT'S SEAT, THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK SIGHT GAUGE WAS VISUALLY EXAMINED, DISPLAYING ZERO FUEL.

THE AIRCRAFT'S FLIGHT CONTROLS WERE MOVED UP, DOWN, LEFT, AND RIGHT TO CHECK FOR SMOOTH AND CORRECT MOVEMENT. NO RATCHETING OR BINDING WAS FELT, NO UNUSUAL FORCE WAS NEEDED TO MOVE THE AIRCRAFT'S FLIGHT CONTROLS, AND NO UNUSUAL SOUNDS WERE HEARD FROM THE CABLES, LINKAGES, AND PULLEYS.

THIS REPORT MAY BE AMENDED IF ADDITIONAL FACTS REGARDING THIS EVENT ARE DISCOVERED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA316](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA316), Aug 10, 2023: Remos Acft Gmbh Flugzeugbau Remos GX (N72GX), Henderson, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor’s failure to ensure there was adequate fuel onboard before departure, which led to a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
