## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

OVER SOUTHEAST COLORADO EN ROUTE FROM DRIGGS, ID (KDIJ) TO DALLAS, TX (KDAL) AT FL 450 AN EICAS MESSAGE, "WINDSHIELD HEAT INOP R"DISPLAYED. THE CREW COMPLIED WITH THE CORRESPONDING ABNORMAL CHECKLIST PROCEDURE. SHORTLY AFTER, THE RIGHT WINDSHIELD CRACKED, AND THE CREW COMPLIED WITH THE "COCKPIT FORWARD OR SIDE WINDSHIELD CRACKED OR SHATTERED" CHECKLIST PROCEDURE WHILE DESENDING AS RECOMMENDED. THE PROCEDURE DIRECTS THE CREW TO "LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL". DIVERTED TO WICHITA (KICT) WHICH WAS BOTH NEARBY AND WHERE REPAIR FACLITIES ARE AVALABLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
