## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ATTEMPTING TO DEPART A SOFT GRASS RUNWAY WITH A TAILWIND. AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO CLIMB ABOVE GROUND EFFECT AND SETTLED INTO A BEAN FIELD ADJOINING THE END OF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA374](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA374), Aug 19, 2023: Cessna A188B (N8075G), Bay Port, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s decision to takeoff from a soft wet runway with a quartering tailwind which resulted in a lack of climb performance and impact with terrain.

## Other reports on N8075G (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19740622018919A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19740622018919A), Jun 22, 1974: Cessna A188B (N8075G), Crete, ND, Substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
