## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 20, 2023 AT APPROXIMATELY 1830 LOCAL TIME, A CESSNA 150-D TOOK OFF FROM HAVEN CENTER (26IN) A PRIVATE GRASS RUNWAY LOCATED 16 NAUTICAL MILES NORTHEAST OF FORT WAYNE INDIANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED UNDER 14 CFR PART 91 REGULATIONS ON A LOCAL FLIGHT. AT APPROXIMATELY 19:30 LOCAL TIME WHILE LANDING AT 26IN THE AIRCRAFT LANDED OFF CENTER LINE OF THE RUNWAY. THE OUTBOARD RIGHT WING IMPACTED A CORN CROP THAT BORDERED THE RUNWAY CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO TURN RIGHT AND CONTINUE TRAVELING INTO THE CORN, DECELERATE AND FLIP OVER. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A REST UPSIDE DOWN. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE UNINJURED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA373](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA373), Aug 20, 2023: Cessna 150D (N4150U), New Haven, IN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of directional control while landing, which resulted in a runway excursion, impact with corn stalks, and subsequent nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
