## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 08/26/2023 IN A PIPER J3C-65, EXPERIENCED A BAGGADGE DOOR DEPARTURE DURING FLIGHT. THE PRIVATE PILOT, DECIDED TO LAND IN A FIELD NOT KNOWING THE EXTEND OF THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE BAGGAGE DOOR AND TO SECURE THE DOG. THE PILOT FOUND NO DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE BAGGAGE DOOR DEPARTURE UPON INSPECTION. DURING ATTEMPTED TAKEOFF FROM THE FIELD THE PILOT ABORTED TAKEOFF DUE TO NOT ROTATING IN A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF DISTANCE. ON THE TAXI BACK TO REPOSITION ENCOUNTER A DITCH HIDDEN IN GRASS CAUSING PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
