## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 30, 2023, A FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED UNDER 14 CFR § 91. THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) STATED HAD RECEIVED A WEATHER BRIEFING AND FILED A IFR FLIGHT PLAN. THE PIC STATED ON INITIAL CLIMB OUT FROM EHR, AFTER LANDING GEAR RETRACTION, HE ENCOUNTERED A FLOCK OF GEESE. THE PIC STATED THE GEESE STRUCK THE RIGHT-WING TIP AND HE CONTINUED THE CLIMB OUT. THE PIC STATED HE CONTACTED AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY AND REQUESTED AN APPROACH TO EVV RUNWAY 04. THE PIC STATED HE SELECTED THIS RUNWAY BECAUSE IT WAS THE LONGEST RUNWAY AND FAVORED BY THE WIND. THE PIC STATED HE FLEW A FASTER THAN NORMAL APPROACH, WITH A REDUCED FLAP SETTING AND THIS LED TO AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING ON THE RUNWAY. THE PIC STATED HE WAS ABLE TO TAXI TO THE RAMP AND SHUTDOWN THE AIRPLANE. THE PIC STATED UPON HIS INSPECTION OF THE AIRPLANE HE NOTICED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT-WING TIP. THE PIC ALSO STATED THERE WERE BLOOD SPOTS AND A BENT OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE PROBE ON THE LEFT-WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
