## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 06, 2023 AT APPROXIMATELY 1030 PDT, A BEECHCRAFT BONANZA S35 DEPARTED RYAN AIR FILELD (KRYN) TOWARDS MARANA REGIONAL AIRPORT (KAVQ). VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES WEST OF KAVQ, “SIGNIFICANT” AIR TRAFFIC WAS NOTED BY THE PIC WHO ELECTED TO MAKE PREPARATIONS FOR LANDING AT KAVQ. PIC STATED THAT AS HE STARTED HIS FINAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 12 AT KAVQ, HE “OBSERVED THE GREEN LANDING GEAR DOWN LIGHT INDICATION.” DURING FINAL APPROACH, PIC CONTINUED TO REMAIN COGNIZANT OF PATTERN TRAFFIC. UPON LANDING, PIC STATED HEARING AN “UNEXPECTED NOISE, SIMILAR TO A METALLIC SCRAPE.” THE AIRCRAFT HAD LANDED WITH IT’S LANDING GEAR RETRACTED.

PHOTOS OF THE FLIGHT COMPARTMENT TAKEN PRIOR TO THE AIRCRAFT BEING RECOVERED FROM THE ACTIVE RUNWAY CLEARLY SHOW THE LANDING GEAR LEVER IN THE UP POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
