## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 9/7/2023 WHILE ON APPROACH TO ROGERS, AR (KROG) THE PILOT OF A FLIGHT DESIGN CTSW PUT A SETTING OF 30 DEGREES OF FLAPS INSTEAD OF A MORE FAMILIAR SETTING OF 15 DEGREES. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND THE PILOT INITIATED A GO-AROUND AND APPLIED FULL POWER. THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP AND ENTERED AN UNCONTROLLABLE LEFT BACK AND ENDED UP HITTING TREES OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 7.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA408](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA408), Sep 7, 2023: Flight Design Ctsw (N603CT), Berryville, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain aircraft control during the attempted go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
