## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURNING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, THE STUDENT PILOT, AS SOLE MUNIPULATOR OF THE CONTROLS, ATTEMPTED A FULL STOP LANDING WITH FULL FLAPS. WHILE IN THE LANDING FLARE, A GUST OF WIND FROM THE RIGHT RAISED THE RIGHT WING. THE CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR GAVE VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS TO ADD ENGINE POWER AND GO-AROUND. THE STUDENT PILOT DID NOT HEAR OR COMPLY WITH THE VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS DUE TO AN INTERMITTENT INTERCOM SYSTEM INSTALLED ON THE AIRCRAFT. THE CFI TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ATTEMPED A GO-AROUND. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH AIRSPEED TO FACILITATE THE GO-AROUND IN THE FULL FLAP CONFIGURATION. THE CFI OPTED TO MAKE A CONTROLLED LANDING INTO THE GRASS AREA LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE CFI THEN TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT TO TAXIWAY "A" AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI TO PARKING. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
