## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STRIP WAS ROUGHER THAN WHAT THE PILOT HAD SEEN FROM OVERFLY, THERE WERE SEVERAL LARGER HUMPS ON THE STRIP AND DECIDED TO TOUCH DOWN BETWEEN THE HUMPS AND STOP PRIOR TO THE NEXT HUMP. PILOT TOUCHED DOWN AT THE SELECTED POINT AND REALIZED THE SURFACE WAS MUCH SOFTER THAN ANY OF THE SURFACES THAT THE PILOT HAD LANDED ON PREVIOUSLY. THE PILOT CAME UP ON ONE OF THE FIRST HUMP AND IN AN EFFORT TO GET STOPPED BEFORE THAT, APPLIED BRAKES. THE PLANE CAME OVER THE TOP OF THE HUMP AND NOSED OVER BEFORE LANDING ON THE PLANES BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC23LA087](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC23LA087), Sep 24, 2023: Bellanca 7GCBC (N169EZ), Beluga, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s excessive application of brakes during landing that resulted in a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
