## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 6, 2023, AT OR AROUND 14:21 MDT, A RYAN BAKER SH-3R, HAD A NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE AFTER LANDING ON ROLL OUT AT DOUBLE EAGLE II AIRPORT (AEG), ALBUQUERQUE, NM, WHILE ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS NOT FILED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE, AND THE AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT ALBUQUERQUE, NM, ON OCTOBER 6, 2023, AROUND 14:00 MDT.

THE INVESTIGATION DETERMINED AN ALUMINUM HYDRAULIC LINE FITTING GOING TO THE NOSE LANDING GEAR ACTUATOR CHAFED AGAINST THE AIRFRAME AND CAUSED A HYDRAULIC LEAK. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID POOLED ON THE INSIDE OF THE COWLING AND WAS NOT VISIBLE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THIS PREVENTED THE NOSE LANDING GEAR FROM ACHIEVING A DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
