## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 9TH 2023 A HELICOPTER WAS PRACTICING TOUCHDOWN AUTOROTATION’S TO A TAXIWAY. THE HELICOPTER UPON LANDING HAD FORWARD MOMENTUM AND DEVELOPED A SIDEWAYS SKID. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE HELICOPTER ON THE TAXIWAY AND THE RIGHT SKID OF THE HELICOPTER ENTERED THE GRASS/DIRT ON THE SIDE OF THE TAXIWAY. THIS CAUSED THE HELICOPTER TO PIVOT AND ROLL OVER CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA008](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA008), Oct 9, 2023: Robinson Helicopter R22 Beta (N838SH), Caldwell, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing, resulting in a roll over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
