## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 9, 2023 THE PIC PERFORMED MULTIPLE UNEVENTFUL TOUCH AND GOS AT MEADOW LAKE AIRPORT. UPON FINAL TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT AND PIC ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE BY APPLYING RUDDER AND BRAKES. AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER AND CAME TO REST LEFT OF TAXIWAY A. AIRCRAFT WAS GIVEN A FIELD APPROVAL FOR THE INSTALL OF C-310 BRAKES BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. THE FAIRCHILD 24 IS WITHIN THE VINTAGE AIRCRAFT CATEGORY AND THE INSTALLED BRAKES WORK AS ADVERTISED BUT PROVIDE A LOT MORE BRAKING POWER THAN THE ORIGINAL STOCK BRAKES. THE PIC WAS COUNSELED ABOUT THE BRAKING POWER OF THE NEW BRAKES AND STATED THAT A POTENTIAL CORRECTION WOULD BE TO CONSIDER A DIFFERENT BRAKING SYSTEM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA007](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA007), Oct 9, 2023: Fairchild 24 G (N19173), Peyton, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s excessive brake application during landing rollout led to the airplane nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
