## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

IT WAS REPORTED TO RIC FSDO ON 10/13/2023 THAT MISHAP AIRPLANE HAD SUFFERED DAMAGE PROBABLY RELATED TO A HARD LANDING. THE PLANE IS OWNED BY A FLYING CLUB, AND NO DAMAGE WAS REPORTED PRIOR TO 10/05/2023. FAA INSPECTION FOUND A CRACKED WING SPAR, BENT LANDING GEAR STRUT, AND OTHER DAMAGE THAT ELEVATED IT TO AN ACCIDENT. PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE SUGGESTED THAT THE DAMAGE OCCURRED IN THE JUNE-JULY TIMEFRAME, AND CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE SUGGESTED A SINGLE FLIGHT WITH A HARD LANDING, HOWEVER THE CREW OF THAT FLIGHT DENIED A HARD LANDING. THE DEFINITIVE IDENTITY OF THE MISHAP PILOT CAN BE SPECULATED, BUT IS UNKNOWN.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
