## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT WING CONTACTED A STAINLESS STEEL LADDER BUILT INTO A FUEL TRUCK THAT WAS PARKED ON THE EDGE OF THE RAMP. THE IMPACT BENT THE LADDER AND LEFT BLUE PAINT ON THE TRUCK. THERE WERE FLAKES OF BLUE PAINT AND A SHATTERED POSITION LIGHT ON THE GROUND BY THE FUEL TRUCK. THE AIRCRAFTS RIGHT WING TIP AND LEADING EDGE WERE DAMAGED AND THE POSITION LIGHT WAS TORN OFF. SOME OF THE POSITION LIGHT ATTACHING HARDWARE REMAINED IN THE WING TIP. THE RIGHT WING SHOWED COMPRESSION DAMAGE ON THE AFT SPAR IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT FLAP. THE UPPER SURFACE OF THE WING WAS BUCKLED FROM THE COMPRESSION WITH SOME OF SHEETMETAL TORN THROUGH IT'S FASTENERS AND LEFT DISPLACED FROM IT'S NORMAL POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA021](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA021), Oct 21, 2023: Cessna 172 (N7607T), Orangeburg, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain adequate clearance from a fuel truck while taxiing. Also contributing was the flight instructor’s inadequate monitoring of the student pilot.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
