PILOT WAS TAXING THE AIRCRAFT INTO POSITION PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. WHILE IN A HOVER 2-3 FEET ABOVE SURFACE PILOT ENCOUNTERED A ROLL/YAW TO THE RIGHT LEADING TO IMPACT WITH THE SURFACE.
