## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SUNDAY THE 26TH OF NOVEMBER 2023 THE PILOT OF A CESSNA 182 SKYLANE WAS ON A SHORT FINAL FOR LANDING AT THE CASA GRANDE AIRPORT AFTER DROPPING OFF HIS SECOND LOAD OF PARACHUTISTS FOR THE DAY AND ATTEMPTED TO INCUREASE THE THROTTLE AND NOTICED THAT HE WAS NOT GETTING THE NORMAL RESPONSE , HE IMMEDIATLY ENRICHED THE MIXTURE AND VERIFIED THE FUEL SELECTOR WAS IN THE BOTH POSITION. AFTER PITCHING FOR BEST GLIDE AND ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE ENGINE HE WAS UNABLE TO GLIDE TO THE RUNWAY AND DIVERTED TO THE LEFT AND LANDED THE PLANE ON THE FLAT DESERT AND IMPACTED A DITCH APPROXIMATELY 8 FEET WIDE AND 8 FEET DEEP. THE AIRCRAFT HAD SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

I WILL REVISE THE REPORT ONCE THE NTSB HAVE COMPLETED THEIR INVESTIGATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA042](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA042), Nov 26, 2023: Cessna 182G (N2428R), Casa Grande, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power during landing for undetermined reasons.

## Other reports on N2428R (1)

- [Incident 19780112002729I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19780112002729I), Jan 12, 1978: Cessna 182 (N2428R), Stow, MA, Minor damage. Forced landing after power loss. Water found in fuel.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
