## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OF A BEECH KING AIR 200 FLEW OVER PANW FROM THE EAST AT A HEIGHT OF 500 TO 700 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AFTER ARRIVING VISUALLY TO CHECK THE WINDSOCK AND REMAIN CLEAR OF CLOUDS. THE PILOT INITIATED A LEFT TURN TO ENTER THE DOWNWIND LEG FOR AN APPROACH AND LANDING ON RUNWAY 32. THE PILOT STATED HE WAS A LITTLE SLOW ON THE APPROACH AND WAS JUST ABOUT TO ADD POWER WHEN THE LEFT WING DROPPED JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN, RESULTING IN A HARD LANDING ON THE LEFT MAIN GEAR. THE SEQUENCE OF TOUCHDOWN WAS LEFT MAIN GEAR, THEN RIGHT MAIN GEAR, FOLLOWED BY THE NOSE GEAR. AFTER LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT, ULTIMATELY LEAVING THE RUNWAY SURFACE AND MAKING CONTACT WITH A SNOWBANK WITH THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THIS IMPACT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO ROTATE 180 DEGREES TO THE LEFT, AND IT CAME TO REST ABOUT 1000 FEET AWAY FROM THE THRESHOLD OF RUNWAY 32, OUTSIDE THE DESIGNATED RUNWAY SAFETY AREA. WEATHER CONDITIONS AT THE TIME WERE REPORTED AS HAVING WINDS FROM 090 AT 6 KNOTS, VISIBILITY OF 1.5 STATUTE MILES WITH MIST, AND AN OVERCAST SKY AT 800 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC24LA007](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC24LA007), Dec 6, 2023: Beech 200 (N98RA), New Stuyahok, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of directional control during landing flare resulting in substantial damage to the left wing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
