## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 12/6/2023 AT 10:44 AM, A REMOS DEPARTING FROM TAYLOR CRASHED ON TAKEOFF, LANDING INVERTED HALFWAY DOWN THE RUNWAY AND SERIOUSLY INJURING THE PILOT. PHOTOS FROM THE SCENE SHOW EVIDENCE OF FROST ON THE AIRFRAME, WHICH WAS CORROBORATED BY A WITNESS WHO DID NOT WITNESS THE CRASH, BUT SAW THE A/C TAXI WITH FROST "ALL OVER THE PLACE". THE TEMPERATURE DATA AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH WAS REPORTED -3 CELSIUS.

A POST-CRASH EXAMINATION DID NOT REVEAL EVIDENCE OF ANY SYSTEM OR FLIGHT CONTROL FAILURE WHICH WOULD HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24FA052](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24FA052), Dec 6, 2023: Remos Remos GX (N449RA), Taylor, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s decision to attempt takeoff with frost covering the airplane’s wings, which led to an exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack and an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
