## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT DEPARTED KMCN AIRPORT FOR AIRPORT GA62. THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTEDING TO LAND AT WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS AIRPORT GA62, BUT HE WAS 1.6 MILES TO THE NORTHWEST AT AIRPORT 8GA9. THE PILOT LANDED ON THE PAVED TAXIWAY OF 8GA9. ON LANDING THE PILOT STRUCK A POWER POLE ON THE SIDE OF THE TAXIWAY, WHICH SPUN HIM INTO THE TREE LINE ON THE SIDE OF THE TAXIWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA085](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA085), Dec 15, 2023: Beech 58 (N303RA), Griffin, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s misidentification of a taxiway as the intended runway, which resulted in a collision with a utility pole and trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
