## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 17, 2023, AT APPROXIMATELY 1400 CDT, AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LOST ENGINE POWER DURING TAKEOFF FROM BURNET MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KBMQ), RUNWAY 1S. AN UNSUCCESSFUL EMERGENCY LANDING WAS ATTEMPTED ON US 281. AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON SIDE OF HIGHWAY AND WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA065](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA065), Dec 17, 2023: Beech B36TC (N70SL), Burnet, TX, destroyed. Probable cause: The loss of engine power due an overly rich mixture from an improper adjustment of the fuel pump, which resulted in a forced landing and impact with a car and terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
