TWO WITNESSES LOCATED NEAR THE ACCIDENT SITE STATED THEY OBSERVED THE AIRPLANE FLYING LOW OVER THE WATER FROM WEST TO EAST. THE AIRPLANE THEN ENTERED A RIGHT BANK TOWARDS A TREE LINE ALONG THE SHORELINE. THE AIRPLANE IMPACTED THE TREES, THEN IMPACTED THE PARKING LOT AND EXPLODED. A LARGE FIRE ENGULFED THE ENTIRE AIRPLANE. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24FA072](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24FA072), Dec 21, 2023: Hawker Beechcraft G36 (N23VS), Buford, GA, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: A loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined due to significant thermal damage from postimpact fire.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
