## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AS THE WHEELS OF THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED THE RUNWAY AT GPT THE PILOT DECIDED THAT HE WAS FURTHER RIGHT OF CENTER THAN HE WANTED TO BE DUE TO A CROSS WIND. THE PILOT THEN DECIDED TO ABORT THE LANDING AND PERFORM A GO AROUND, INCREASING THE THROTTLE TO FULL AND APPLYING RIGHT RUDDER. THE AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY CUT LEFT CROSSING THE RUNWAY AND EXITED INTO THE GRASS. SHORTLY AFTER ENTERING THE GRASS THE TIP OF THE RIGHT WING IMPACTED THE GROUND WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE PROPELLER TO IMPACT THE GROUND; THE IMPACT ADDITIONALLY CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA078](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA078), Dec 23, 2023: Cessna 210M (N6PD), Gulfport, MS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the go-around with a crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
