## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) WAS GIVING INSTRUCTION TO THE NON-PIC^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IN ORDER FOR HIM TO APPLY FOR HIS CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI) MULTI ENGINE RATING. THE NON-PIC^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ COMPLETED A SHORT FIELD LANDING AS A TOUCH AND GO. ACCORDING TO THE CFI/PIC THE SOFT FIELD TECHNIQUE WAS NOT ADEQUATE SO THE CFI/PIC THEN DEMONSTRATED THE NEXT SHORT FIELD LANDING BUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RAISE THE FLAPS ON ROLLOUT, INSTEAD, RAISED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE MOMENTARILY. THE RIGHT MAIN AND NOSE LANDING GEARS PARTIALLY RETRACTED (COLLAPSED) CAUSING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DOOR, RIGHT LOWER ENGINE COWLING AND BOTH PROPELLERS TO CONTACT THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
