PIC CHOSE TO COMMIT TO A LANDING. BOTH PILOTS REMARKED THAT THE AIRPLANE WAS WELL PAST THE INTENDED TOUCHDOWN POINT, AND WELL ABOVE GLIDESLOPE A FEW MOMENTS BEFORE TOUCHING DOWN WITH ABOUT 2,600' OF AVAILABLE LANDING DISTANCE REMAINING. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO STOP WITH BRAKES AND SPOILERS BUT WAS UNABLE DUE TO THE AIRCRAFT'S INERTIA AND THE WHEELS HYDROPLANING. THE AIRPLANE OVERRAN THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST 280' EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE FAR ENDS OF RUNWAY 13 AND 17. FOUR MINUTES BEFORE THE INCIDENT THE HYI METAR REPORTED AN APPROXIMATE 12-24 KNOT TAILWIND.
