## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN WAS INTENDING TO DROP A CARE PACKAGE AT A REMOTE LOCATION. MADE TWO PASSES OVER THE DROP LOCATION. ON THE THIRD PASS, A DROP WAS MADE. PREOCCUPATION WITH TRYING TO PUSH THE DOOR OPEN AND DROPPING THE PACKAGE, WHILE MANEUVERING, CAUSED A LOSS OF CONTROL, RESULTING IN A STALL. AIRMAN WAS UNABLE TO REGAIN COMPLETE CONTROL, AND THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED BRUSH/TREES AND THEN THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER AFTER CONTACTING THE GROUND, AND SLID BACKWARD IN THE DIRECTION OF FLIGHT CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE ENPENNAGE. THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED. THIS ACCIDENT WAS WITNESSED FROM THE GROUND BY THE AIRMAN'S "^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC24LA015](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC24LA015), Feb 17, 2024: Cessna R172K (N1258V), Trapper Creek, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack while maneuvering at low altitude, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall; loss of airplane control; and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
