## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A LANDING, BUT WAS UNHAPPY WITH THE FLARE. HE SAID HE WAS CONCERNED HE WAS TOO FLAT, AND THAT IT WOULD PORPOISE, SO HE DID A GO-AROUND. DURING THE GO-AROUND, HE DEBATED PULLING THE GEAR UP, AND INITIALLY DECIDED NOT TO, BUT THEN DID PULL IT UP OUT OF HABIT. WHEN HE RETURNED FOR LANDING, HE FORGOT THAT HE HAD PULLED THE GEAR UP, SINCE HE REMEMBERED DEBATING AND DECIDING TO LEAVE IT DOWN. HE COMPLETED HIS GUMPS CHECK, BUT FOR THE GEAR, RELIED ON HIS MEMORY, NOT THE GEAR INDICATION LIGHT OR HANDLE POSITION, AND AS A RESULT, LANDED WITH THE GEAR IN THE UP POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
