## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 20, 2024 AT 1:30 LOCAL TIME I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE ROC THAT A CESSNA 150 LANDED OFF AIRPORT IN A BLUEBERRY FIELD NEAR DUNNELLON, FLORIDA. 1 SOUL ON WAS BOARD. LESS THAN A GALLON OF GAS WAS FOUND IN BOTH TANKS. THE UNUSABLE FUEL FOR THIS AIRCRAFT IS 3.5 GALLONS PER TANK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA117](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA117), Feb 20, 2024: Cessna 150 (N8158F), Dunnellon, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate preflight fuel planning, which resulted in fuel exhaustion and a subsequent total loss of engine power.

## Other reports on N8158F (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19820703037279I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820703037279I), Jul 3, 1982: Cessna 150L (N8158F), New Ellenton, SC, Substantial damage. Pilot landed on highway because of low fuel. After fueling. Pilot struck two sign post when taxing for takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
