## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC TOOK OFF FROM TIW ON TEST FLIGHT FOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. UPON RAISING THE GEAR HANDLE, PIC NOTICED THAT THE GEAR DID NOT MAKE ITS NORMAL AUDIBLE "THUD" WHEN THE GEAR WAS UP AND LOCKED. PIC THEN PRECEEDED TO MAKE A PASS BY THE TOWER TO ASK IF THE GEAR WAS UP OR DOWN. TOWER CONFIRMED GEAR WAS STILL IN THE DOWN POSITION. PIC THEN DECIDED TO LAND AND CHECK OUT THE ISSUE, PLACING THE GEAR HANDLE BACK INTO THE DOWN POSITION. UPON LANDNG THE GEAR COLLAPSED RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT SLIDING DOWN THE RUNWAY ON IT'S UNDERSIDE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
