## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 11, 2024, THE AIRCRAFT WAS INVOLVED IN A GEAR-UP LANDING AS A RESULT OF THE PILOT'S FAILURE TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. THE PILOT STATED HE DID NOT REPORT THE EVENT DUE TO HIS INTERPRETATION OF THE NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOUND IN NTSB PART 830. HE STATED THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND HE DID NOT BELIEVE THAT THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT REPORTED THE EVENT ON MAY 22, 2024, FOLLOWING HIS CONTACT WITH THE ATL FSDO TO REQUEST INSTRUCTIONS TO OBTAIN A FERRY PERMIT. DURING THE INVESTIGATION SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE BELLY SKIN AND FORMER RIBS WAS NOTED. IN ADDITION THE PROPELLER AND FLAPS WERE DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA226](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA226), Mar 11, 2024: Beech A36 (N216R), Griffin, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to extend the airplane’s landing gear before landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
