## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A COMMERCIAL PILOT FLYING AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT RV-7A AIRPLANE MADE A HARD LANDING AT AIRPORT AZO ON RUNWAY 27 RESULTING IN NOSE GEAR DAMAGE. THE PILOT REPORTED HE HAD ENCOUNTERED A WIND SHEAR PRIOR TO TOUCH DOWN. WEATHER CONDITIONS REPORTED BY ATIS STATED WINDS WERE 270 AT 21 KNOTS GUSTING 31 KNOTS; AUTOMATED WEATHER RECORDED PEAK WINDS 240 AT 37 KNOTS. THE AIRPLANE SUBSEQUENTLY CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY WHERE GROUND CREWS WERE NEEDED TO CLEAR THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS VFR ENROUTE FROM KLOZ WITH ONE PASSENGER ONBOARD, NO INJURIES REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
