## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KAAF (APALACHICOLA, FL) AFTER TAKING ON 16.3 GALLONS OF FUEL. THE TANKS WERE VISUALLY OBSERVED TO BE "TOPPED OFF". AT 1 HOUR AND 10 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, THE PILOT OBSERVED AN INDICATED FUEL IMBALANCE. THE GUAGES INDICATED THE LEFT TANK TO BE AT 1/4 TANK AND THE RIGHT INDICATED FULL. THE RIGHT TANK WAS SELECTED AND THE FLIGHT CONTINUED FOR FIFTY MINUTES. THE PILOT TURNED INBOUND FOR 48A (COCHRAN, GA) AND AT APPROXIMATELY 14 MILES OUT THE ENGINE QUIT RESULTING IN AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
