## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS GETTING CONVENTIONAL GEAR TRAINING FOR ENDORSEMENT. ON TAKEOFF ROLL ON RUNWAY 23 IN CALM WIND CONDITIONS, THE PILOT USED FORWARD STICK TO GET THE TAIL IN THE AIR. THE AIRCRAFT THEN YAWED RIGHT. THE PILOT OVERCORRECTED TO THE LEFT AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE INSTRUCTOR THEN TOOK CONTROL OF THE STICK AND PULLED THE AIRCRAFT INTO THE AIR. THE STUDENT PULLED POWER AT THAT TIME AND THE AIRCRAFT SUNK HARD ONTO THE GROUND. THE RIGHT WHEEL BROKE, THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED ONTO ITS BACK. THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT SUCCESSFULLY EXITED THE AIRCRAFT THROUGH THE CABIN DOOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
