## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT PLACED THE LANDING GEAR DOWN DURING THE APPROACH. THE MAIN LANDING GEAR DID NOT EXTEND. THE PILOT PERFORMED THE MANUAL EXTENSION PROCEDURE WITH NO SUCCESS. THE PILOT CHECKED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL AND FOUND NONE REMAINING. HE PLACED SOME ENGINE OIL IN THE RESERVOIR TO GET THE MAIN GEAR TO EXTEND. IT DID NOT EXTEND. THE PILOT ADVISED ATC AND MADE A MAIN GEAR RETRACTED LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED ON THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE UNTIL THE RUDDER AUTHORITY WAS LOST. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT. THE RIGHT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER AND ELEVATOR WERE DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF IMPACT WITH THE RUNWAY SURFACE AS THE AIRCRAFT DECELERATED.

DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A HYDRAULIC LINE HAD FAILED IN THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM. THE PART IDENTIFED WAS THE GEAR DOWN HOSE ASSEMBLY PART NUMBER S2178-3-0144.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA186](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA186), Apr 12, 2024: Cessna 210 (N777NT), Concord, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: Failure of a landing gear extension system hydraulic hose, which resulted in a landing with the landing gear retracted.

## Other reports on N777NT (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19800108014389I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800108014389I), Jan 8, 1980: Cessna 210L (N777NT), Philadelphia, PA, Substantial damage. Pilot missed taxiway and struck runway marker. Damaged propeller and broke runway marker.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
