## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 24, 2024, AN AIR TRACTOR AT-502N, BEARING THE REGISTRATION NUMBER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, OPERATING UNDER 14 CFR PART 137 WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHILE PERFORMING A LANDING ON RUNWAY 17 IN OLNEY TEXAS. AT TOUCHDOWN, LOSS OF CONTROL WAS ENCOUNTERED AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND ENDED UP IN AN OPEN WHEAT FIELD. THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA165](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA165), Apr 24, 2024: Air Tractor AT-502B (N6108L), Olney, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during landing in gusty wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
