## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT LANDED HIS EXPERIMENTAL AMATUER BUILT CONVENTIONAL TAILWHEEL AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 24 AT PNE. DURING THE ROLLOUT, THE PIC HAD DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING THE RUDDER AND TAILWHEEL ADEQUATELY, SUBSEQUENTLY ENTERING A GROUND LOOP AND CAUSING THE LEFT GEAR TO COLLAPSE. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY ONTO THE GRASS AND CAME TO REST. THE PIC AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING, LEFT GEAR, LEFT SIDE OF FUSELAGE AT WING ROOT, AND LEFT WING FLAP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA202](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA202), Apr 28, 2024: Stephen R Kunkle Mustang II (N1855M), Philadelphia, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
