## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DEPARTED VFR FROM F45 AIRPORT FOR FD38 AIRPORT. AIRCRAFT LANDED WHEELS UP AT FD38 AIRPORT. DUE TO THE AMPHIBIOUS DESIGN OF THE AIRCRAFT, ONLY MINIMUM DAMAGE OCCURRED AND IS LIMITED TO PAVEMENT SCUFFING ON THE HULL'S AFT KEEL AND AFT LEFT CHINE.

PILOT REPORTED THAT HE FAILED TO DEPLOY THE LANDING GEAR. PILOT IS LOW TIME AND HAS A POSITIVE ATTITUDE TOWARD SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE WITH NO PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS, INCIDENTS OR VIOLATIONS.

A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IS IN THE INHERENT DESIGN OF AMPHIBIOUS AIRCRAFT WHICH DO NOT HAVE LANDING GEAR WARNING SYSTEMS NORMALLY FOUND IN RETRACTABLE GEAR AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
