## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RWY 26 AT CAPITAL CITY AIRPORT. AT 1500' MSL, THE PILOT WAS INSTRUCTED BY ATC TO MAKE A LEFT TURN TO A HEADING OF 180 DEGREES. AT APPROXIMATELY 2500' MSL, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BALD EAGLE ON THE LEFT WING. THE PILOT RETURNED TO CAPITAL CITY AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.

THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE ON THE LEADING EDGE OF LEFT WING APPROXIMATELY 6 FEET FROM WING ROOT. NTSB CONCURS THAT THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE CLASSIFIES THE EVENT AS AN INCIDENT. REPAIRS ARE TO BE MADE AT A MAINTENANCE FACILITY IN TOMS RIVER NJ. AFTER A TEMPORARY REPAIR IS MADE, THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^/OPERATOR WILL INITIATE A REQUEST FOR A FERRY PERMIT TO RELOCATE AIRCRAFT TO THE REPAIR FACILITY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
