## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING ON RUNWAY 8L AT MIA, THE SIC WAS PILOT FLYING (PF) AND THE PIC WAS PILOT MONITORING (PM). WINDS WERE FROM THE SE AT 7-10 KTS. THE PF ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT FOR CROSSWIND USING AILERONS RATHER THAN RUDDER. THE PLANE ROLLED RIGHT, AND THEN THE PF CORRECTED, CUASING THE PLANE TO ROLL LEFT. THE PF CALLED FOR A GO AROUND. THE PIC/PM DID NOT BELIEVE THAT A GO AROUND WAS SAFE, TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT, AND LANDED THE PLANE. NEITHER PILOT REALIZED THE AIRCRAFT WINGTIPS HAD MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND DURING THE LANDING UNTIL IT WAS DISCOVERED LATER ON A WALK AROUND ON MAY 7TH.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
