## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 10, 2024, A 1982 AERO VODOCHODY L-39

COMPLETED A CHASE MISSION AND RETURNED TO EDWARDS AFB FOR PATTERN WORK. AT APPROXIMATELY 1240L THE PILOT HAD JUST TOUCHED DOWN ON HIS SECOND PLANNED TOUCH AND GO WHEN THE RIGHT MAIN WHEEL DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THE L-39 BEGAN TO PULL TOWARDS THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND DEPARTED THE PREPARED SURFACE ROUGHLY 1500 FEET PAST THE TOUCH DOWN POINT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 200-300 FEET OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY 05R, NEARLY 90 DEGREES OFF RUNWAY HEADING FACING SOUTHEAST. DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE RIGHT WING, RIGHT FLAP AND RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED UP RIGHT ON ALL THREE LANDING GEAR AND THE PILOT WAS UNHARMED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
