## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE IS IN THE BURN UNIT AT UC DAVIS MEDICAL CENTER. HE DOESN'T KNOW WHEN HE WILL BE RELEASED. HE STATED THAT HE DEPARTED AT AN UNKNOWN TIME AND PERFORMED AN AERIAL APPLICATION FLIGHT. HE ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON A RUNWAY THAT HE HADN'T LANDED ON FOR A LONG TIME. HE LANDED LONG AND WAS RUNNING OUT OF RUNWAY LENGTH. HE ATTEMPTED TO PERFORM A GO-AROUND AND APPLIED POWER. THE DIRT WAS SOFT AND HE WASN'T ACCELERATING AS MUCH AS HE WOULD HAVE ANTICIPATED. THE AIRPLANE WAS ABOUT 3-4 FT AGL AND COLLIDED WITH TREES AT THE END OF THE DIRT STRIP.

THE PILOT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO PRE IMPACT MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS OR FAILURES WITH THE AIRPLANE THAT WOULD HAVE PRECLUDED NORMAL OPERATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA151](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA151), May 12, 2024: Grumman G164 (N6612Q), Maxwell, CA, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to ascertain a proper touchdown point and late decision to initiate a go-around, which resulted in a subsequent collision with vegetation.
