## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT DEPARTED 1D2 WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM INDICATING AROUND 11 VOLTS FOR THIS 12 VOLT AIRCRAFT SYSTEM. THE COURSE OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS A NORTHEAST HEADING AND 6 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER. WHEN THE VOLTAGE DROPPED TOO LOW, THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM SHUTDOWN. THIS LED TO A FORCED LANDING IN A SUBDIVISION CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED WITH A BROKEN RIB.

THE AIRCRAFT DOES NOT HAVE ANY STATED LIMITATIONS FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OR NORMAL OPERATING VALUES PLACARDED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA185](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA185), May 12, 2024: Titan T51 (N260Y), Novi, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: A failure of the electrical system, resulting in a loss of fuel injection and subsequent loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
