## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

APF TOWER REPORTED ABORTED TAKEOFF DUE TO A BLOWEN TIRE AND BROKEN STEERING LINKAGE. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE STEERING LINK PIN WAS NOT FULLY INSTALLED. AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO RWY 23 AND STARTED ITS TAKE OFF ROLL, AT ABOUT 50 KNOTS AIRCRAFT THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A SEVERE SHIMMY. THE TAKEOFF WAS ABORTED, AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED OFF THE RUNWAY TO THE RAMP. PHOTOS OF THE NOSE GEAR STEERING SYSTEM SHOW SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE STEERING SYSTEM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
